Bok Tower Gardens

Updated: Sep 27, 2020

Bok Tower Gardens is one of my favorite places to practice photography. I love the serenity and variety in Florida's nature and wildlife. I've always enjoyed visiting botanical gardens and I love architecture, so Bok Tower is a great place for me to get both of those things. The gardens are named after a man named Edward Bok, a Dutchman who became a notable philanthropist. He died within sight of the tower and was buried at the doorstep. Calvin Coolidge dedicated the gardens to Bok and it remains a popular tourist destination to this day.

It stands at 205 feet and has carillons that play throughout the day. Concerts are often performed here also. It's also the highest elevation in the peninsula of Florida with a height of about 295 feet above sea level.

As you can see, there's a vast variety of beauty in this garden and I've barely scratched the surface. So if you're ever close, be sure to check out the gardens!
